Brides don $10,000 gold masks during COVID-19 pandemic

In the age of the coronavirus, Turkish brides have found a new golden accessory to wear on their wedding day. Turkish brides generally receive a set of gold jewelry and other pieces of gold on their wedding days from family members and guests. The arrival of the coronavirus pandemic in Turkey has forced many wedding traditions to be adjusted – including limited dancing and mandatory mask-wearing.


As necessity is the mother of invention, these changes have produced a new, glamorous way for brides to sport their bling – this time right across their faces.
